As this week comes to a close, we look back on Monday’s Southwestern Indiana Collections Connection Association 3rd Annual Meeting.
Attendees enjoyed a light breakfast of Donut Bank donuts and coffee sponsored by one of SICCA’s sponsors, Pollux Systems, Inc.
Amber Gowen, Clerk’s Archivist, gave a brief introduction into government records and highlighted some of the historical pieces located in the Clerk’s Archives. State Archivist and Director of the Indiana Archives and Records Administration, Jim Corridan, spoke on the hidden treasures located in the State Archives, preservation issues, the work of the State Archives and upcoming digital catalog, and projects celebrating the Indiana Bicentennial.
Over 50 people representing 28 organizations in Indiana and Kentucky attended the conference.
After lunch, attendees received a rare tour of the Clerk’s offsite records center.
Thanks to all who made the day such an enjoyable experience! We look forward to participating in the rest of SICCA’s activities in 2016.
Good luck and best wishes to the Annual Meeting’s 2017 host!
